Hoses shall not be used between the cylinder(s) and the holding device(s). 2 The boom cylinder(s) shall be capable of elevating and controlling the design load (SWL × Cv) within recommended minimum and maximum boom angles. 3 The boom cylinder(s) shall be capable of supporting the boom and 110% design load (SWL × Cv) within recommended minimum and maximum boom angles. 4 The boom cylinder(s) shall be designed with a 4:1 design factor (ASME Section VIII burst pressure/pressure required to support and raise the boom and a safe working load).
3 Exhaust Guards All controls used during the normal crane operating cycle shall be located within easy reach of the operator while at the operator’s station.
